Update: We used to make this with silken tofu, but now we make this with extra-firm tofu (plus maybe 1/2 cup of water) and it is even better! Highly recommend tossing it all in a blender if using the extra-firm tofu. This remains a group favorite! Recipe recently updated 06/2024!

Servings 4 | Calories per serving 400
Ingredients
1 package of Extra-Firm Tofu (454 grams)
100 grams of dark chocolate (70% or darker)
2 tablespoons of sweetener (I use date powder, but sugar or maple syrup work too)
2 tablespoons of cacao powder
Toppings: I like 1 cup of frozen berries per serving +/- 1 tsp of cacao nibs on top
Key tips: leave the tofu out on the counter for about an hour so it's at room temperature.
Directions
Empty the entire package of tofu into a high speed blender.
Melt chocolate in the microwave, stirring every 15-20 seconds. It typically takes around 60-90 seconds total to melt. Don't walk away! Your chocolate will burn!
Pour the melted chocolate into the blender with the tofu.
Add sweeter and +/- cacao with maybe 1/2 cup of water.
Blend until smooth and serve.
